Comparison and Analysis of Electric Screw Press and Friction Press

In the field of mechanical manufacturing, electric screw presses and friction presses have always been two types of equipment that attract much attention. To better understand their characteristics and advantages, we have conducted an in-depth comparison and analysis of these two presses.

First, in terms of working principle, the electric screw press generates pressure on the slider through the motor driving the screw pair. While the friction press transmits power by using the friction between the friction disc and the flywheel to make the slider move down and generate pressure. These two different working principles determine their differences in performance.

In terms of energy efficiency, the electric screw press has obvious advantages. It can precisely control pressure and stroke, reducing energy waste. In contrast, the friction press generates more friction loss during operation, and its energy utilization rate is relatively low.

In terms of precision control, the electric screw press performs outstandingly. It can achieve high-precision pressure control and repeated positioning, and is suitable for production occasions with high requirements for product precision. The precision of the friction press is relatively low and it is difficult to meet the needs of some high-precision processing.

From the perspective of operational convenience, the electric screw press adopts a digital control system, which is simple and convenient to operate and can realize automated production. While the operation of the friction press is relatively complex and requires experienced operators to adjust and control.

In terms of maintenance cost, due to its relatively simple structure, the electric screw press has a lower maintenance cost. The friction press needs to replace wearing parts such as friction discs regularly, and the maintenance cost is relatively high.

In addition, in terms of environmental protection performance, the electric screw press does not produce pollutants such as exhaust gas and waste water, meeting modern environmental protection requirements. The friction press may generate certain noise and dust pollution during operation.

To sum up, the electric screw press is superior to the friction press in terms of energy efficiency, precision control, operational convenience, maintenance cost and environmental protection performance. With the continuous progress of technology, the electric screw press is expected to play a more important role in the field of mechanical manufacturing.
